February 21st: Stuart was headed to Nashville for his Bachelor party and I was headed home to Columbia after work on Friday. Some friends of mine had an extra ticket to the Darius
Rucker concert and invited me to go with them, so I got off a little early and
bolted to Columbia
so I could join in! Little did I know how our night was going to go…
Justin Wheelon is an up and coming actor from Aiken, SC. He
went to USCA with me, and after he graduated, he went on be in movies like Iron
Man 3, JFK: The Real Story, and has recently been in The Wolf of Wall Street, A
Southern Comfort, The Maddening Descent and The Distance Between. He happens to
be good friends with Darius Rucker, so I texted him earlier in the week when I
found I was going to the concert.
Tyler and I ran into Justin on the way to our seats and he
texted me shortly after and said he could get me an all access pass if I wanted
to. Well hello… do you know who I am!! Of course I went! Darius was already on
stage playing and I went and met Justin down on the floor and he got me
backstage! We went to Darius’s hospitality suite where there was all the food
and drinks you could ask for, and then to his dressing room! I was trying to
play it cool on the outside but was
literally jumping up and down on the inside!! I mean who seriously gets to do
this!!
We went back out around front to watch Darius and his band
play and I called Bailey was who also at the concert. She was right around the
corner from us on a blind date, and unfortunate for him, she left and came over
with us! Justin ended up getting her a pass and she came back with us too!
There was an after party there after the concert, of you can bet Bailey I
stayed! We got to meet Darius’s family, friends, and the entire band (who loved
us).
